I know this is a food blog, but we should all keep in our hearts the victims of 9/11 as we are in the 10th anniversary. It was 10 years ago at approximately 8:46 am and 9:03 am that the 2 twin towers were hit and then around 9:37 am the pentagon was hit. I was 2 1/2 years old when this happened. I vaguely remember seeing my mom turning on the TV to see the fire and smoke from the crash. My father was only a few blocks away from the twin towers, he saw them fall. We could not communicate with my father so my mother was very worried. my sister came home early from school. and was also very scared. Many people escaped but many didn't. Many businesses were shut down for the next week. a total of 19 hijackers took control of 4 planes, 2 planes crashed into the twin towers, 1 plane hit the pentagon, and the last plane was aimed at the white house but some brave passengers took the plane over from the hijackers and crash landed the plane in a field in PA. A total of 2,996 people died on 9/11. Apart from the twin towers the 3rd - 7th WTC building were partially destroyed. Merline Meyers, a 9/11 survivor was on the 91st floor of the 1st tower at the time of the crash and had narrowly escaped.
In our hearts always will be the twin towers
Now for some good news they are planning to rebuild the world trade center which will be opening in a few years.
Remembering always,
The Picky Eater
